01

Start a little exploration

Open your atlas, choose a 10, 15 or 25 minute invitation and start outdoors. Allow While Using the App location access and Precise Location. Reliable walking movement reveals roughly 40-metre grid tiles. Choose a safe public path yourself; Roamvia is not turn-by-turn navigation.

02

Recording and interruptions

Pause for transport or an indoor stop. An active walk can continue with the screen locked, with the iOS location indicator visible. Force-quitting stops recording. Reopening offers saved progress to resume without filling missing route segments. Weak GPS, long gaps and fast movement are excluded. Very slow vehicles can resemble walking.

New Apple Maps detail may need internet. The stored atlas and GPS recording can work without network coverage, but Roamvia does not download offline map regions.

03

Roamvia Plus and purchases

Plus is a one-time App Store purchase, with no subscription. It removes ads and unlocks atlas films, personal discovery goals, monthly and yearly reports and period comparisons. Walking, the atlas, journal, collections and local backups remain available without Plus. The purchase screen shows the current price supplied by Apple in your storefront.

For an existing purchase, use Settings → Roamvia Plus → Restore purchases while signed into the Apple Account used for the original purchase. An internet connection is required for verification. Pending purchases unlock after Apple confirms them. If the store is unavailable, try again later; your atlas remains available. Apple manages payment and refund requests.

Understand your exploration reports

Reports use only completed walks stored on this iPhone and group them by their start date. Walking days counts distinct days with a saved walk. Goals reached counts walks whose recorded duration met the selected time invitation. Tile counts include distinct tiles visited within the period, including familiar places. New cells count places first discovered in your currently saved history. Period comparisons show distance, new cells and active days. An ongoing period compares equal elapsed time with the previous period; full past periods compare calendar months or years. When the previous value is zero, no percentage is invented. Deleting or restoring walks updates reports.

05

Create an atlas film

Open Settings → Your atlas in motion. Choose all time, the current month or custom dates, then use the native timeline to replay actual recorded discoveries. Walks are included by start date; the animation follows accepted recorded positions. At large scales, nearby cells may merge visually, while totals remain exact.

Create and share film produces a ten-second video on your iPhone. Give it a title and optionally show dates. Dates are off by default. The visible shapes may reveal places you visited, so check the film before choosing a destination in the iOS share sheet. No street labels or GPS metadata are added. Keep Roamvia open while exporting; you can cancel and retry.

06

Personal discovery goals

Open Settings → Discovery goals. Choose a week or month and a target for new cells or active days. Save up to one goal of each kind for each period. Edit or remove a goal without deleting walks. Goals repeat automatically each period and already saved walks from the current period count.

Weeks run Monday–Sunday in local time. Only completed walks count; revisits do not count as new cells. Days are distinct local dates with a saved walk. Goals and progress are local and recalculate when you delete or restore walks. Goal settings are included in new backups; restoring an older backup without goals clears goal settings.

07

Advertising and privacy choices

Ads may appear only when leaving the summary of an eligible newly saved walk. There are no ads during a walk, on the first saved walk or for verified Plus users. A display requires at least two recorded minutes and 100 metres and is limited to once per five minutes.

Settings → Advertising privacy choices appears when a regional consent form is required. Finish or discard any active walk before using it. Tracking permission is separate and can be changed in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Declining tracking does not block walking.

08

Keep your atlas safe

Use Settings → Export local backup before changing phones or uninstalling. Backups contain precise routes and dates and are not encrypted by Roamvia. Keep them in a trusted location. The atlas is excluded from automatic cloud device backup.

Restore a backup validates the file before replacing the local atlas. Erase all walks removes the atlas on this device; exported or shared copies remain where you saved them. Deletion does not cancel a Plus purchase.
